This week Whistler hosts the 13th annual Whistler film festival. It’s been great to watch this event grow from humble beginnings back in 2001 to the 80 films from Canada and around the world that participants will be treated to this year. Keep an eye out for Oscar winners Richard Dreyfuss and Mellissa Leo who will be in town to promote their respective films “Cas & Dylan” (directed by Vancouver’s own Jason Priestley) and “Prisoners”. It’s another great way that Whistler has been promoted not just as a ski town but a year round resort with a solid foundation in sports, art and culture. Come on up and catch a show or two.
This past week saw only 6 new listings come to market and we had 11 price changes and 11 sales. This compares to the previous week which saw 14 new listings, 9 price changes and 12 sales. The 11 sales consisted of 6 chalets ranging in price from $910,000 to $1,520,000, a 2 bedroom village condo which sold for $358,000 (an excellent purchase and likely one of the last “great deals” to be had in the village) and 4 townhomes priced from $380,000 to $1M. For more information on these sales please contact me.
We currently have 480 active chalet, condo, duplex, town house and vacant land listings available to purchase in Whistler. To view all the past weeks new listings, price changes and completed sales please click here.
A very Happy Thanksgiving to our friends south of the border who will be celebrating this upcoming weekend. Blackcomb Mountain will be opening on the 28th and it should be a busy weekend here.
If I can offer my expertise on these or other Whistler listings, please touch base. I would be pleased to discuss your goals and show you some of the good opportunities that still exist in this improving market.
Have a great week ahead,
