Whistler new listings and real estate sales

Blog by Nick Swinburne | September 30th, 2013

We continue to see improvement in the Whistler market as buyers make their move.  Confident in an improving market or looking to utilize lower mortgage rates sooner than later, Whistler inventory is at its lowest since May of 2008.  As we approach the rental season, we may see sellers continue to test the market or pull the listing off in favour of use or rental.  I feel there are still good options available but buyers will start to need to move a little more quickly in their choices or risk losing a property.

For sellers we are seeing one of the best opportunities in recent years to achieve a sale in a decent time frame and realize a better final sale price.

This past week we had 14 new listings, only 4 price reductions and 15 sales.  To view all the past weeks new listings, price changes and sales

The village was still busy(ish) this past weekend as mountain bikers and village strollers braved the wet.  The good news is we have an accumulating base of snow in the higher elevations and restaurant deals!  Quite a few restaurants switching over to their shoulder season pricing, so make a weekend of it and come up.

If I can offer my expertise on the local market or to arrange some showings, please contact me - I would be happy to assist.

Have a great week ahead!
