I hope this finds your week off to a great start. This past week in Whistler saw another spectacular showing from the athletes competing in this year’s Crankworx bike festival. The sun was out, the village was bustling and Saturday evening’s grand finale, Redbull’s joyride, was won by Whistler’s own Brandon Semenuk. I am continually amazed at the gravity defying tricks these riders can pull out of the bag – simply incredible.
Recently I have been really impressed with the amount of family activities are available by the new Celebration Plaza and the greater use of the stages in this area. July 1 saw a great show by Ashleigh McIssac, July 15 saw a bike criterium race around the Plaza and I foresee this area being used to stage orchestras, shows and concerts. The north side of the Tyndalstone lodge offers some great decks overlooking this area (front row seats, without having to leave your room) with great views, and the rooms themselves are well laid out. I feel the proximity to the Plaza and the big decks will make these a desirable property to have for rental or personal enjoyment. Definitely a fun place to stay to see any event in the plaza!
Listings are back to a more regular number this week (I hesitate to use the term ‘normal’) with 22 new postings. Sales remain steady at 12, and we saw 25 Price reductions. This compares to last week which saw 47 new listings, 12 sales and 23 price reductions. I expect to see a big listings number on the first of the month.

A very nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath in Lagoons came to market at $479k with the HST already paid. Overall I feel the Lagoons offers great return on the purchase. It offers a good location, a good build, underground parking and the units are well sized. Click here to view
Another good purchase can be found in Alpine Greens. These units rarely come to market and to have 2 currently listed is great from a buying perspective. This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath one level unit. Your patio door opens on to the 1st tee of the Chateau Whistler golf course – very bright and a nice view. Go to “New Listings” on my web site to view this property.
A well finished 5 bedroom duplex in Bayshores also caught my eye. You can orientate it to have 3 bedrooms up and a private 2 bedroom rental suite below, or combine them all to make 5. Click here to view
We continue to see some very good pricing opportunities in this current market and I am always happy to answer any questions or comments about these or other Whistler properties.
Have a great week ahead!
