I hope this finds you well and off to a good start for the week. May is finished and June is here bringing with it sunshine to the Whistler valley. Fingers crossed that this year we avoid the trend of past “June-uary’s” and we can look forward to continued sunshine. This past weekend saw Whistler’s 3rd annual half-marathon take place. Sold out and well attended, it is another sucessful block in the foundation for increased summer tourist traffic here in town.
The Whistler real estate market saw 17 new listings this past week, up from the previous week’s total of 15. We saw only 3 price changes (compared to the previous amount of 5) and a big surge in completed sales which totaled 24, up from 6 the week before. Currently Whistler real estate inventory continues to be low, sitting at 523 available listings of Chalets, Condos, Duplexes, Townhomes and Vacant Land. Although we may continue to see more inventory come to market, pent up demand from Buyers will mean that properties will start moving quickly if priced right.
Sales this past week consisted of 3 single family homes between $799,000 to $2m, 8 condo sales from $85k to $451,000, 2 duplex sales ranging from $800k to $880,000, and 11 Townhome sales from $195,000 to $2m.
