Whistler real estate transaction report for Sept. 6

Blog by Nick Swinburne | September 6th, 2011

This past weekend was a busy one in Whistler village – the inaugural “Jazz on the Mountain” jazz fest was a huge hit, the lakes and parks well attended and lots of smiles as people enjoyed a hot and sunny Labour day long weekend.  Next weekend (Sept 10) sees 7000 riders from the RBC Grandfondo cycling race, pedal their way from Vancouver to Whistler.  Where else can one find such a diverse range of activities and fun events?  (...and did I mention the 2 mountains?)  I am truly fortunate to call this place ‘Home’.

This past week Whistler saw 13 new listings, 10 Sales and 23 Price reductions in Whistler.  This compares to last week’s numbers which saw 24 new listings, 8 sales and 18 price reductions.

Please go ahead and click here to view the past week's new listings and price changes.  For a detailed sales report please contact me directly.

Prices continue to decline in the local market and we are starting to see an increase in accepted offers.  Vendors who are realistic about the market (and price accordingly...) are seeing offers come in within a couple of days of their listing going live or being reduced.   At last count we have 800+ listings in the valley.  Lots of selection and most vendors are motivated to make a sale.

Please feel free to forward my information if you have family or friends looking to buy or sell real estate in Whistler.   I always look forward to answering questions regarding Whistler real estate purchases.

All the best for the week ahead,

Nick
